Social media can both positively and negatively impact your career as a personal trainer. Knowing what to do can seem overwhelming at first, especially if you don’t have a big following. So, here is a guide to social media marketing for personal trainers that will boost your business online!
Identify your goals:
How do you see the performance of your social media marketing? Make sure you have a specific plan and go into detail about the things you want. You need these goals to be measurable in order to determine whether you have truly met your goals in the way you wanted. For example, if you want to gain 3 clients in the next month, you may want to create a booking system on your Facebook page and measure how many enquiries are made and PT sessions are booked.
Identify Your Audience:

For social media success, you must stay present online. Post regularly, engage with your audience and reach out to those who may benefit from your business. Try to build genuine relationships with people online as opposed to pushing out words and imagery that make you look like nothing more than an advert. Engage Your Audience:

It’s important to give your audience something to do once they have engaged with your content. Here are a few instructions you could add to the end of your posts:

You may also consider asking them to write a short paragraph about their experience with you to add to the images. It will show your audience just how effective your services can be.
Hashtags are a great way to get people to find you and your profile on social media, especially on Instagram and Twitter. Try out different relevant hashtags with each post and see which drive the most traffic.
Don’t Give Up:
Metrics can tell you where you’ve been successful and what you need to work on. However, if your metrics are mostly negative, don’t let it get you down! Use these results to see what you can change and monitor as it is all one big learning curve!
